Paddle Canada Level 1 Skills Course Despite the sunshine we appreciate the water stays quite cool. So we will provide you with a complimentary Dry suit to stay toasty & dry! Kayak & safety gear is also provided. Over the 2 days our main mission is for you to have fun & have all the skills & knowledge required to feel safe & secure on the water. Exploring & practising different paddling strokes and rescue techniques make up the 1st day. As part of the trip planning exercise on the 2nd day you will be introduced to weather interpretation, understanding charts, tide & current etc. We provide a full resource pack on registration. You do not need any previous kayaking experience to access this course. Activities focus on safety and gaining paddling skills for a day trip within a large bay or sheltered shoreline. Issues of safety between paddling partners and judgments of sea conditions throughout the day along the shore are included.
