Nanaimo Family Life Association, through our Better at Home Program, helps seniors with simple day to day tasks, in order that they can maintain their independence and stay connected with our community. We believe that healthy individuals and family relationships are the heart of a strong and resilient community. The NFLA Better at Home Program offers a range of non-medical home support services including: Social Connections, Transportation to Appointments, Light Yard Work, Minor Home Repairs, Light Housekeeping, and Grocery Shopping. At this time, the Better at Home Program is seeking qualified people who live in Nanaimo to perform Better at Home services for persons over 65 in our community. Successful applicants require a vehicle, proof of a valid driver's license, possess a clean driver's abstract and must provide a criminal records check. This contract position would suit persons who have experience working with a variety of people, have housekeeping and support experience, are patient, understanding, and are respectful of diversity. This is a part-time contract and preference will go to persons who are active adults looking for supplement income ranging from 5 to 20 hours per week. In addition, successful candidates must have a reliable vehicle as transporting clients to various appointments may be required.
