Osprey Forest Operations Wildland Firefighters: We are looking for new recruits for our emergency services Wildland Fire Crews contracts and are recruiting for our 2021 season for.: Firefighting crews, First Aid and Driver crews, Structural Protection crews, and Danger Tree Assessor and Faller crews (Faller rates are not shown here). These crews can also be utilized for Flood Relief Sand Bagging in the event of a bad spring flood season. These are very good paying seasonal jobs, starting at $20 for new hires, with hourly wage top ups for up to $30.00 per hour regular time, and 1.5 that rate for overtime hours 8 to 12, double time after 12. Usually 12 hour work days. There is both daily and weekly overtime paid, for up to 14 day shifts. We pay rate top ups for six categories of certification: Experienced Firefighters, Crew Leader, Power Saw Operator, First Aider, Drivers. There is no guarantee of the amount of work available, as these are emergency service contracts. Five of the past Seven years have been extremely busy, and environmental conditions look to continue this trend. We are looking for new hires for all these crews, upgrading people to higher crew positions. Session 1 Date for S100 Training is the weekend of; May 22-23 Session 2 Final Date for S100 Training is the weekend of; June 12-13 Additionally, all Session 1 and 2 people will return June 5 or June 19 for additional hands on training, pump and hose practice, and full 8.5 km fit test. Medics for orientation on June 19. .Additional dates to be announced. This is a very physical and demanding position and only physically fit people should apply. There is no charge for training ($1000 value). Respond with the following: Previous (if any) Wildland Firefighting experience (when, where, for who, hours deployed, crew rank), OFA ticket level and status, Valid Class 4 DL, Power Saw Operator Training Certs and/or Experience, Danger Tree Fire Certification, BC Faller Certification, Fire Crew Leaders, Fall Arrest and Rescue Certification, Structural Protection (WSPP 115) or better Training and/or Experience.
