We are looking for new recruits for our emergency services Wildland Fire Crews contracts and are recruiting for our 2020 season for.: Firefighting crews, First Aid and Driver crews, Structural Protection crews, and Danger Tree Assessor and Faller crews. These crews can also be utilized for Flood Relief Sand Bagging in the event of a bad spring flood season. These are very good paying seasonal jobs, though there is no guarantee of the amount of work available, as they are emergency response contracts. Five of the past 6 years have been extremely busy, and environmental conditions look to continue this trend. We are looking for new hires for all these crews, upgrading people to higher crew positions. The first Date for S100 Training is the weekend of; March 14-15 The second Date for S100 Training is the weekend of; April 18-19 Third Date for S100 Training is the weekend of; May 9-10 Additionally, all Session 1 and 2 people will return for additional training, pump and hose practice, and another full 8.5 km fit test. All new hires and returning employees need to attend. Fit Tests with 25-pound Weighted Packs. Gear inspections will be done for existing employees. Bring current ID and all updated training tickets (DL's, OFA's, DTA's, etc.) Reply to: (Ospreyforest@shaw.ca) email address to register or call the office during work hours to register or ask questions. This is a very physical and demanding position and only physically fit people should apply. There is no charge for training ($1000 value). There is an equipment requirement for the potential employee of several hundred dollars, but we can help you with the essential firefighting gear, this is strictly our option. Respond with the following Previous (if any) Wildland Firefighting experience (when, where, for who, hours deployed, crew rank), OFA ticket level and status, Valid Class 4 DL, Power Saw Operator Training Certs and/or Experience, Danger Tree Fire Certification, BC Faller Certification, Fire Crew Leaders, Fall Arrest and Rescue Certification, Structural Protection (WSPP 115) or better Training and/or Experience.
