Truck & Trailer Mechanic

Mac Nutt Enterprise Nanaimo: We are looking for a fun energetic person to be our Truck and Trailer Mechanic. We are a locally owned and operated trucking and, gravel pit company; the right person will be a friendly team player, with some mechanical understanding. We are willing to train the best candidate in the fine art of heavy-duty repairs. Job Responsibilities: * Provide service for heavy-duty equipment, including routine maintenance * Check all heavy equipment for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions. * Repair and adjust hydraulic pumps, safety valves, and any other necessary mechanical components. * Inspect, repair, and adjust gasoline and diesel-powered units. * Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations, and compliances. * Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively. * Perform mechanical repairs on equipment in the shop and road calls when required. * Test repaired equipment for proper performance. * Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation. * Other mechanical repair work as required. * Able to work Tues-Sat, and overtime as needed Qualifications * Possess a valid driver's license. * Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment. * Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. * Able to work well under pressure. * Strong attention to detail. * Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally always. * Minimum Class 5 Driver's licence Assets * Experience with routine truck and trailer maintenance operations. * Air brakes certificate * Experience with driving and repairing heavy duty machines * Upgraded licence Wage will be Based on Qualifications
