Local landscape maintenance company is seeking an energetic, fit individual to join our team. This is a permanent full-time position working forty hours per week within the Garden Care branch of Thrive Landscapes Ltd. - operating from Qualicum Beach to Parksville & all places in between. Working under minimal supervision, the chosen applicant will take an active role in all aspects of garden care for our valued clients. Responsible for assisting in day-to-day projects and coordinating with other teams to ensure smooth delivery of expected outcomes. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Adhering to proper uniform standards * Arriving at work on time, ready and prepared to work * Demonstrating a positive disposition * Providing technical knowledge and functional support to staff members * Coordinating all aspects of day to day operations * Preparing and maintaining up to date work records using field service applications * Maintaining an inventory of all necessary tools and supplies - order/replace as needed * Supervising day-to-day projects - General Shrub And Garden Care for our Clients. * Operating equipment such as power shears, lawn mower, line trimmer, leaf blower, general hand tools & comfortable working on ladders * Remain current with new and updated technology and cultural practices * Willing to participate in other work operations as required. Qualifications: * Graduate or Current Students of VIU's Landscape Horticulturist- Technician Foundation Program or Equivalent * Experience with tree pruning and hedge trimming - Special considerations for those possessing an Arborist Certificate * A willingness to learn new skills and develop your abilities Experience gardening is an asset You will possess the following: * Ability to operate tools and equipment necessary to complete day to day tasks * Proven planning, problem solving, organizational and interpersonal skills * Knowledge of computer applications * Must be medically and physically fit to perform all job tasks * Communication Skills - Verbally and in writing * Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions * Valid BC Cass 5 Drivers License is required Salary Range: * Pay based on qualifications and experience
