We are looking for an experienced teppan Cook who is passionate about the food and beverage industry, can engage and motivate the team in a fast-paced environment, and can successfully assist in our kitchen operations. Teppan cooks are front and centre at any Edo Japan restaurant. The ideal candidate will be quick and diligent, able to work under pressure, have attention to detail, and is a team player. The knowledge of making Japanese dishes is an asset. Salary is negotiable based on experience. * Cooking and preparing full and partial meals including meats, vegetables, soups, and salads, executing daily food preparation and task lists * Preparing meals from our consistent menu, as well as daily specials * Ensuring that the quality of food meets the restaurant standard * Maintaining inventory records of food, other supplies, and equipment * Monitoring stock regularly and order more supplies when necessary * Keeping working area clean and tidy during and after shift * Prepare and cook special meals when required by customers, taking into consideration allergies and food preferences * Must be able to use various kitchen equipment, e.g. broiler, deep dryer, grill, and ovens Requirements: * Completion of secondary education * Minimum 2-3 years cooking experience or an equivalent combination of experience and training * FOODSAFE certification * Language of work: English * Terms of Employment: Permanent, full time (30-40 hr/week) As an equal opportunity employer we encourage applications from all qualified individuals and specifically applicants from traditionally underrepresented groups - including Indigenous persons, vulnerable youth, newcomers, and persons with disabilities - who may contribute to the continued diversification of our organization.
